The studio
Houle is a design studio that stirs waves of light through surprising objects. Each new creation is an opportunity to showcase a gesture.
The story of Houle studio begins with a common fascination with a material with extraordinary properties; the polarizing filter. It is present everywhere and we see it every day on our computer screens, our televisions, without knowing that it is present. It is an incredible design tool, which allows us to create protean objects without the intervention of electronic components, and thus reduce the number of potential failures.
This “Low-Tech” approach accompanies an ecological approach. We believe that it is unthinkable to design objects without considering their complete life cycle. In this sense, we are working with actors invested in a research process to try to reuse used screens as raw material.
